Brookline Open Studios started in 1986 when a handful of artists living in Brookline opened up their home studios to the general public one weekend in the spring. Since then, more and more artists have participated, sharing their work and process of creating with the community. For its 34th year, the event has been transitioned to a virtual setting in the interest of public health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2020 Brookline Open Studios & Marketplace Steering Committee includes Caroline Bowden, Amy Emmert, Madeline Fine, Gillian Jackson, Leonie Little-Lex, Maryellen Moran, Lauren Riviello, Lauren Trombino-Walleser, Lex Vazquez, Sheryl Williams and Caren Zane.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Brookline Commission for the Arts, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
